Illinois CLICKS! offers the residents of Illinois vital, high-quality information efficiently, via the Internet, and vetted by more than 100 librarians and other subject experts statewide.

Using CLICKS! is easy for all, regardless of computer or language skills. Browse the categories or search by subject. CLICKS! is designed to serve all Illinois residents: from little kids to students to senior citizens, from blue collar laborers to executives, from recent immigrants to DAR members, from the mouse-challenged to computer savvy - regardless of income or property tax level.

Founded in 2003 by volunteer librarians and the Illinois State Library, CLICKS! had more than 100,000 visitors that first year. Use of the service continues to grow as hundreds of Illinois libraries, schools, agencies, and legislators are now linking to it. CLICKS! serves the nearly one million Illinois citizens not served by traditional library services, along with those who do.

Organizing and maintaining quality web links is a time and staff intensive enterprise. For many libraries, CLICKS! represents the only informational and educational reference links they can afford to offer their users. And for larger libraries, this portal frees up the time of the librarians to focus on more community services, books, computers, and local links.
